About Mr Ilankovan
Mr Ilankovan is a Consultant Facial, Head and Neck Surgeon. He has worked as an NHS consultant at Poole Hospital, Dorset since 1993. He qualified in Dentistry in Sri Lanka and obtained his Medical Degree at the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff. He holds fellowships (FRCS) in Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery of both Edinburgh and English Royal College of Surgeons.
He has extensive training in cosmetic surgery, facial plastics and head and neck reconstruction. His post graduate training took place in Wales, the West of Scotland and the North East. He was also trained at the world renowned Mayo Clinic under Professor Ian Jackson.

He has indepth knowledge in cosmetic surgery, particularly the face. He trains local and international trainees in facial aesthetic surgery. He is an invited speaker around the world in facial aesthetic surgery. He is a founding fellow of the Association of Facial Plastic Surgeons (AFPS) and annually conducts training courses. He has contributed to chapters in books as well as publishing over 85 papers in peer review journals.
He is a visiting Professor of Head and Neck Surgery at the Beijing Cancer Hospital and he is the President Elect of the British Association Of MaxilloFacial Surgeons
He set up a local cancer charity called About Face with the help of his patients and friends for the benefit of Dorset and Hampshire cancer patients. He has established 3 cleft lip and palate units in South India which are now training centres for trainees from the United Kingdom and other European Countries.
His philosophy in Facial Aesthetics is to provide comprehensive three dimensional surgery to bring about a natural outcome.
Regina Ilankovan
Regina Ilankovan qualified in Sri Lanka and obtained her Post Graduate training in Wales and Scotland. She has been in General Dental Practice for a number of years. After a spell in Paediatric Dentistry and for the last 10 years she has concentrated on Aesthetic Dentistry.
She has been trained particularly in veneers, crowns, dental implants, laser teeth whitening techniques and usage of lasers in cosmetic surgery including wrinkles, thread veins and hair removal. Her training has taken her to Europe and the USA. She is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Her philosophy is to provide a balanced facial and oral cosmesis which would give a natural appearance. She firmly believes that general well-being and aesthetics should go hand in hand.
