Cosmetic Procedures

At the Wentworth clinic we specialise in cosmetic procedures to improve facial cosmesis. The aging problem causes both intrinsic and gravitational damage to the facial structures. A facelift is the commonest surgical procedure carried out to counteract the gravitational problems such as droopiness of the brow, loss of cheek definition, jowls and neck contour. This can be combined with a brow lift procedure and can be carried out either endoscopically or with an open approach.

Blepharoplasty is another cosmetic procedure where excess folding of the skin, eyebags and loss of eye contour/definition are corrected. This procedure is considered as part of midface rejuvenation. The neck contour can be corrected with liposuction of the neck, where excess fat distribution is removed via a small cannula.

The other cosmetic surgical procedures carried out are, rhinoplasty, (nose reshaping) where the shape and size of the nose is improved. A hump, drooping and boxy nasal lobules are easy problems to correct.

Prominent ears (otoplasty) can be pinned back. Incisions are made behind the ear and the cartilage is contoured to the desired shape. In adults this is an easy cosmetic procedure to carry out under local anaesthetic.

We improve instrinsic problems of the face by serial chemical and jet peels, or laser resurfacing, where the superficial layers of the skin are removed by laser, with virtually no thermal damage to the deep structures. Resurfacing with the Erbium laser is another cosmetic procedure which can be carried out under local anaesthetic as a day case.
