Lunchtime Lift
Aging results in folding cheeks,
sagging jowls and loss of neck definition. The ideal treatment is a
three-dimensional face and neck lift. The surgical process, however,
takes 4 to 5 hours under a general anaesthetic and the recovery can
take up to 3 to 4 weeks. Not all patients are suitable for an
extensive general anaesthetic and are not all prepared for the longer
downtime.
A large group of patients would be happy with some
improvement so that a healthy outcome without undergoing an operation
can be obtained with minimum downtime. This is where a “lunchtime
lift” would be very effective.
How is a lunchtime lift done?
Depending on whether the lateral brow, cheek or neck area needs enhancing 3 or 4 small incisions are made, deeper tissues and muscles are tightened and excess skin is removed. Drains are not usually required. Support dressings are applied and the procedure can take up to 2 hours. It is usually carried out under a local anaesthetic.
Are there any side effects and complications?
All surgery carries risk. Unsightly scarring, bleeding, bruising, infection and damage to nerves are possibilities. Complications are much less likely to be a risk in the lunchtime lift.
Who is suitable for a lunchtime lift?
Any age group is suitable.
•
Someone, for example an older patient who needs a small area of
enhancement with significant loose skin, would benefit by this
procedure.
• Any patients who do not want to go through a general anaesthetic.
• Anyone who does not want to have a long period of downtime.
• Anyone who does not want the obvious telltale signs of a face lift.
How much does a lunchtime lift cost?
The cost varies from £2,000 to £4,000
