From the beginning of time, well from the 1900’s at least, there has always been a certain body shape or image that women have strived to achieve. The ideals of the perfect woman has changed and evolved over time, turning from bold and beautiful, to skinny, to curvy and back again with women of the era trying to keep up with the evolution of the perfect body.
Starting with the early 1900’s, we weave our way through over a century, charting the change in the bodies and the mind set of women from decade to decade, looking at how the female form has altered over the last 100 years. Continue reading →
Cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery can produce fantastic results that can really boost confidence; thousands of men and women every year undergo cosmetic procedures with positive results. However, if you are thinking about undergoing a procedure here at Wentworth Clinic we urge you only to trust qualified and experienced surgeons.
There has been a lot of talk in recent news about people using unqualified and inexperienced practitioners to complete potentially dangerous procedures. In many of these cases the patient has made their decision based on the reduced price of the procedure rather than the credibility of the practitioner.
Unfortunately, the people carrying out these procedures are often not qualified doctors and the risk of complications during the process can be increased. While many procedures are completed without complication or negative, it is always safer to trust a qualified doctor with years of experience and that’s what you’ll find here at Wentworth Clinic.
At Wentworth Clinic we are a team of highly qualified and experienced consultants that will always work with your needs in mind. We will discuss your options, answer all of your questions and advise you on which procedure would be most suited to your specific situation.
If you would like to know more about the surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures we offer at Wentworth Clinic please browse our website or get in touch with us today to speak to a member of our friendly and knowledgeable team.
A common problem with age is that the skin around the neck can begin to sag, causing loss of definitions and jowls. This can often cause the appearance of a double chin- a sign that many will associate with excess fat but this is not always the case.
Here at Wentworth Clinic we offer a range of cosmetic procedures to combat signs of ageing but the most effective procedure to tackle this problem is usually a neck lift. A lower neck lift can dramatically reduce the appearance of sagging skin in this area and produce a more youthful, defined look.

It’s absolutely imperative that you discuss your needs, your desires and all of your options with a member of expert team before committing to any form of surgery or procedure.

We take customer care seriously at Wentworth Clinic and it’s essential to us that you are comfortable with the decision you make so we encourage you to voice any concerns and ask any questions you may have- there are no silly questions when it comes to cosmetic surgery!

You might feel as young as you did when you were 21 but your appearance might not tell the same story. We all suffer with the effects of aging, and problems such as sagging skin, jowls and loss of definition are all too common.
There are a number of options available to you if you’re hoping to revitalise your appearance for a younger look and a face lift is one of the most common. Unfortunately, a face lift isn’t the right choice for everything as it requires a general anaesthetic and can involve considerable recovery time.
Here at Wentworth Clinic, however, we also provide mini face lifts- sometimes known as ‘lunchtime lifts’.
Every procedure, of course, will differ depending on the patient’s specific requirements but there are some common differences between the two procedures:
– The mini lift does not require the use of a general anaesthetic as it is carried out under local anaesthetic
– Drains are not usually required
– The mini lift procedure will usually only take around 2 hours
Almost any age group is suitable for a mini lift and there are many reasons that people often opt for mini face lifts as opposed to a normal face lift:
– Perfect for a person with a small area of loose skin
– Ideal for those that do not want to go under a full general aesthetic
– There is typically a much shorter period of downtime
– There are typically less visible signs of the procedure
– Although there are possible side effects with any kind of surgery, there is a reduced risk of complication with a mini face lift
If you’re unsure about which procedure will be the most suitable to produce the results that you’re looking for our expert consultants can give you all the advice you’ll need. Our team will assess your needs on an individual basis and recommend the best course of action or procedure.

Confidence plays a significant role in our everyday lives and the way we look has a huge impact on our confidence. As we get older our appearance changes and if the way you look isn’t in line with the way you feel it can quickly get you down.
Here at Wentworth Clinic our highly skilled and experienced consultants can give you valuable advice about how nonsurgical or cosmetic procedures can help you. We understand that as you get older the lower face and neck can show age and that you may be considering a neck lift to address the problem area.
Before you decide on a neck lift procedure, it’s important that you fully understand the procedure, what it entails and what results it can produce.
Sagging skin around the neck area or less of definition is a particularly common; the problem may also appear in the form of a double chin but it is not normally caused by excess fat.
Many patients may believe that liposuction is the best course of action to address the problem but through our years of experience we have found that liposuction causes irregularities in the skin and can result in an unpleasant appearance.
It’s important to remember that each case is different and after a consultation, our skilled consultants will advise you on the most effective treatment or procedure to achieve the results you desire.
A neck lift can have dramatic and positive results and can often be combined with other procedures to improve the appearance of the neck further.
Unfortunately, there are no guaranteed results with any cosmetic procedure because, as we said before, every case is different.
It’s important to discuss the expected results of the procedure with a consultant as they will be able to advise you on what can realistically be achieved and what you can expect.
At Wentworth Clinic it’s important to us that you have all the relevant information about a procedure before making any decision so please feel free to browse our website or contact us directly to book your appointment.
Life can be difficult if you’re unhappy with your looks and as we all inevitably begin to age, we can feel old before our time. It’s particularly frustrating when your looks don’t reflect how you feel about yourself; why are you looking at an aging face in the mirror when you feel as good as you did in your twenties?
Here at Wentworth Clinic we’re here to help you look as young as you feel and through cosmetic surgery and non-surgical treatments, we hope to have you feeling even younger as well! One of the most significant signs of aging is the eyes; you might have perfect skin and plump lips but chances are that it’s your eyes that are letting you down.
Eyelid surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that involves the removal or repositioning of skin or fat surrounding the eyelid.
By removing or altering the skin around the eyes, we are able to minimise the appearance of sagging skin or dropping upper lids.

It’s important to remember that every individual will be different and consequently, the results of the surgery will be different for each person. Our experienced consultants will talk you through the procedure and explain what specific results you can expect.
Our surgeons are always up front and honest to ensure that you can make a fully informed decision. Click here to find out more.
Eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the appearance of your face and reduce the signs of aging around the eyes. It’s important to note, however, that eyelid surgery will not improve the appearance of wrinkles or dark circles around the eyes.
If you would like more information about eyelid surgery or any of the other procedures available at Wentworth Clinic, please visit our website or contact us directly to speak to a member of our experienced team.
Eyelid surgery can be a good solution to improve the appearance of sagging skin or muscle surrounding the eye and can produce fantastic results. As with any surgery, however, the steps you take after your surgery are equally, if not more important, than those taken prior to surgery.
Whether you’ve recently had surgery and are looking for advice or you’re considering the surgery and would like to know more about expected recovery, at Wentworth Clinic we’re here to help.
For more information about the procedure itself click here.
The following advice will give you a good idea about the necessary steps to take after your surgery; however, it should not be taken as medical advice and nothing compares to the individual advice you will receive from one of our experienced and highly qualified consultants:
– Keep your head elevating for the first few days to reduce swelling
– Swelling with typically peak 48 hours after surgery
– A cold compress can help to reduce swelling but always wrap any ice or ice pack in cloth to prevent any bandaging or tape becoming wet
– Do not taken medication such as Aspiring or Nurofen following surgery as this may cause bleeding
– Clean eyes with warm, sterile water and use eye drops if instructed to do so
– Sutures are typically removed after 5-7 days depending on recovery
– Following the removal of the sutures, you will soon be able to use makeup
– Due to swelling and removal of skin problems with closure of the eye are possible. If you experience this, apply ointment before going to sleep
– Eyes can appear watery for a number of weeks following surgery
As we said before, this is not an exhaustive list and this simple advice should not be taken in place of medical advice given by your surgeon or a doctor. If you would like more information about the procedures available at Wentworth Clinic, please visit our website or contact us directly.
The way you look says a lot about you and although they says that it’s what inside that counts, if you’re unhappy with your appearance then it can be difficult to think like that. Confidence and self-esteem can often rely heavily on your appearance so it’s understandable that you would want to do everything you can to improve this.
Here at Wentworth Clinic we understand how significantly it can affect you if you’re unhappy with your appearance and we’re here to help. We specialise in cosmetic procedures that can remedy common aging problems such as drooping upper lids and bags below the eyes. Eyelid surgerycan do wonders to address aging eyes but if you’re considering this procedure it’s important that you know exactly what is involved in the procedure and what results to expect:
Eyelid surgery involves the removal and repositioning of fat, excess skin and muscle that sits along the upper and lower eyelid to improve the appearance of any drooping or sagging skin.
The procedure can uplift and revitalise the appearance of your face to give you confidence a boost and combat a primary sign of aging.
Here at Wentworth Clinic it’s incredibly important to us that you have an accurate and realistic idea of what to expect from your procedure. We will never tell you that we can achieve something that we can’t.
– Eyelid surgery will not remove the appearance of crow’s feet and eliminate wrinkles
– It will not lift sagging eyebrows
– It will not reduce or eliminate the appearance of dark circles under your eyes
If you’re unsure about whether eyelid surgery is the right choice for you then please contact us and speak with one of our highly qualified consultants. We will be able to advise you about the best course of action to achieve your desired results and talk you through any questions you may have.
